Support – Novotis can offer
Novotis can provide different forms of support for projects and companies. Support ranges from initial gap analysis through improvement programs and training to manning quality assurance roles in the organisation.
Gap Analysis
Novotis use informal assessments as a way to identify strengths and key weaknesses. Novotis do not believe in “just do what the standard says”. We want to find practical solutions for the company. With 20 years of experience with Automotive SPICE and ISO 26262 across a range of OEM and suppliers Novotis can contribute a unique experience.
Novotis has an iterative approach to establishing and improving processes and methods. Small informal assessment will be used as a means to update the gap analysis and provide feedback to management and customers about the progress.
An initial gap analysis will take 3 – 4 days and can be combined with introductory training if the company has no previous experience with SPICE or ISO 26262.
Support
Novotis can support the company with an improvement program. An improvement program focuses first on the key gaps in “Level 1” in the SPICE model. In parallel we recommend working with the higher levels in the model like establishing reviews, a “Level 2” practice and establishing a SPICE / ISO 26262 Quality System, a “Level 3” requirement.
Novotis can also support with Quality system development. A Quality System is comprised of: processes, guided templates, guidelines and good examples. The processes and templates may be the formal elements expected by a standard but for the end-user templates, good examples and guidelines are often more useful in the daily work.
Novotis can also provide rapid support for questions that come up. This is especially true for ISO 26262 where teams often struggle with how implement the required practices and methods in an effective way.
Common ISO 26262 issues where Novotis can support are:
- Understanding how to develop safety requirements
- Estimating the effort required for a functional safety project
- Finding an effective safety architecture at a reasonable cost
Quality Assurance
During process improvement projects Novotis performs frequent narrow scope assessments to measure progress. These assessments also works as audits that can comply with customer requirements for independent Quality Assurance.
Novotis can also man the role as Quality Manager or Safety Manager in a project. Novotis has international experience from these roles at OEM’s and suppliers. Using an outside Quality Manager may be an effective initial solution for a small company.
